Paris Santiago, Finding Self-Worth After Teen Pregnancy
In today’s episode, I’m chatting with Paris Santiago who found her self-worth after a teen pregnancy and multiple abusive relationships.
I met Paris at a life-changing event in Fiji and she just blew me away with her spirit and her fearlessness. I knew I had to get her on my podcast.
She’s a woman who has gotten herself out of some of life’s darkest places. From becoming a single mother at 17, to moving from one abusive relationship to another, Paris has seen it all.
Her story is one of losing all self-worth and confidence, to finding strength and empowerment in the depths of the darkness.
Growing up as the second oldest out of four children, Paris had always felt that middle child syndrome whenever her parents would dote on her two younger siblings. Even when Paris was excelling, her parents rarely gave her the same attention. If she wasn’t getting recognition for her achievements, what was the point?
She stopped caring about school, started taking drugs, and went from an honor student to nearly failing out.
At 17, she became a single mother. To make matters worse, the father of her child was even more lost than she is. He was in jail when Paris gave birth. He was also abusive and unfaithful in the relationship, but Paris put up with it because she didn’t want her son to grow up in a broken family.
Eventually, it was too much and she left. But, as someone who struggled with self-worth, she went from that relationship into another abusive relationship.
Listen to the full episode now and discover how Paris found strength in her struggles to grow into a much empowered and more independent woman.
